Today's newly registered non-profit is the Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County. If you have ever had a gardening or bug question for your property about which you need to know more, they are are the go-to organization to help you. Located at 930 Spruce Street (next to the Trenton Farmer's Market), they are available in person from March through October from 9 - 3 M-F, or by phone (Helpline 609-989-6853).
They operate under the direction of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension program and the Mercer County Horticulturist. The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County is a volunteer source of home gardening information for Mercer County residents. The goals of the organization are to expand the public’s knowledge of responsible gardening and pest management through horticultural and environment programs, and through community service activities, and to assist residents in gaining up-to-date recommendations from Rutgers Cooperative Extension, other land grant institutions, and the USDA.
