Calling All Artists: Upcycled from Trash to Treasure Art Exhibit and Contest

    March 1, 2017

Art is an important part of a sustainable community!  The Arts address fundamental issues of making a community Sustainable – they bring us together, they create opportunities, they bring new people to our town, they help grow our economy; they enrich our lives, and they help empty out our trash and recycling containers!

At the Green Fest every year we celebrate practices that make us greener from energy saving initiatives to local food to  recycling.   Our artists have long been accustomed to making do and reusing to create their art.  The practice of "upcycling" takes recycling to a new level and turns everyday trash into treasure.

The Mercer Sustainability Coalition invites all area artists to participate in our Upcycled Art Exhibit and Contest at the Green Fest this year.  Celebrate the recycling mantra of recycle - reuse - and resale through art and show off your creative use of reused materials.

All entries will be on display during the Green Fest and must be picked up at the end of the event (4pm).

First Prize -  $100  for the most creative use of recycled materials
